Sound

This is the ending to the 1960 'psycho' by Alfred Hitchcock. We have looked at this
short clip as it is really clever for sound and our survey showed that most people would like voiceovers and diegetic sound in the film. The sound for this clip is clever as it allows us to know what the character is thinking; by the point in the film the man has become entirely taken over by the belief that he is his dead mother and it is her voice we hear speaking. The sound is juxtaposed against the image shown as it is an old lady telling us that people see her as harmless but we are seeing a young man who is in a prison and looks happy in a ungeneric way. We will be using this type of binary opposition in our film to show the difference between the good and the evil.
